Wim Hof, The Iceman Cometh | HUMAN Limits

This video aims to clarify some things about what is happening in the body when you do the Wim Hof breathing technique. It is a very valuable technique and I'm quite certain it has improved my health personally, and has improved my meditation focus. However, the explanation I often see given for what is happening when you practice the breathing technique is incomplete and can be misleading. For example, the tingling you feel is due to a lack of oxygen availability, NOT because you have more oxygen. If someone wanted to push harder thinking they're getting super charged with Oxygen this could be detrimental. I have a lot of respect for Wim Hof and don't intend to criticize him at all. I simply want to clarify some points about certain physiological processes so it can help more people get the most out of this very interesting and useful technique.

Superhuman "Iceman" Wim Hof is showing the world how to kick Mother Nature's butt, one deep breath at a time.

Science is catching up once again! We are thrilled to announce the findings of the latest research study from Amsterdam Medical Center about the impact of the Wim Hof Method on auto-immune disease. The results are truly impressive. A new milestone has been reached! Shedding light on our human potential. Stay Happy, Strong and Healthy! The 2014 Radboud study validated the Wim Hof Method as an effective tool in bringing down acute inflammation. Now, a new study has shown that the WHM can also effectively combat chronic inflammation. What do we mean exactly when we speak of inflammation? What happens to someone with arthritis, on a biochemical level? This animation illustrates the role of the immune system in handling inflammation, and what happens when this system breaks down. You can read more about the study in our blog post: https://www.wimhofmethod.com/blog/battling-arthritis
