Hey everybody, it's your boy Buddy Huggins coming at ya from the Ozarks!
The wait is finally over — the new Chadwick Flyer Trail Bridge over Highway 65 in Ozark, Missouri is OPEN! I was lucky enough to be one of the very first people to walk across it, then I came back with my classic Trek Madone road bike and became one of the first to ride a real road bike across too. I also caught some of the first e-bikes, runners, and folks crossing on scooters.
In this video you'll see:
The barricades coming down and that first walk/run across the bridge
Real conversations with locals using the trail (including a kid who loves how it helps him get to school without killing his e-bike battery)
Meeting friendly people on the trail — because that's what we do out here
A little trail history and a look at where the trail ends right now (spoiler: it's still a bit of a mess on one end)
What is the Chadwick Flyer Trail?
Back in the day, the Chadwick Flyer was a slow little train (they called it the "Flyer" as a joke because it only went about 10 mph) that ran from Springfield down to Chadwick, Missouri. It hauled timber, railroad ties, passengers, and goods through Christian County. The line got abandoned decades ago, and now that old railroad bed is being turned into a beautiful multi-use trail connecting Ozark to Springfield. This new bridge is a big deal — it safely gets walkers, runners, and cyclists over busy Hwy 65 without dodging traffic. It's part of a bigger vision to link Ozark all the way to Springfield via the Ozark Greenways system. Pretty cool piece of history coming back to life!
If you're in the Ozarks and love getting outside, this trail is gonna be awesome for biking, walking, and just enjoying the area. Wind was blowing like crazy that day, so I might have to voice over parts, but you get the full raw experience.
Drop a comment: Have you crossed the new bridge yet? What's your favorite trail in Ozark or Christian County?

The media is telling us to be afraid of a fearsome new Iranian state-sponsored terror group that's unleashing antisemitic terror and chaos on London ambulances. So, where did this organization come from? On today's special edition of Propaganda Watch (remember that series?), James dives deep into "Ashab Al Yamim" and deconstructs the terror hysteria in real time.
