Dear Resident,

July is a special time in Ozark as we celebrate our nation’s independence and reflect on the history that has shaped our community and our country. This year is especially meaningful as America marks its 250th anniversary.

Here in Ozark, we are proud of the role history plays in telling our own story. If you have not had a chance yet, I encourage you to stop by the new kiosk on the downtown square, which shares pieces of Ozark’s history and helps preserve the stories that have made our city what it is today. We are grateful to the Historic River District for helping make this addition possible and for continuing to invest in celebrating Ozark’s heritage.

There is also exciting momentum on the square as we look ahead to a couple of new businesses opening soon. It is always encouraging to see continued investment in our historic downtown, and I know many of us are looking forward to welcoming these new additions to the heart of our community.

Historic Downtown Ozark

As you celebrate the Fourth of July, I hope you will take time to enjoy all that makes Ozark special — from our history and hometown traditions to the people and businesses that keep our community thriving.

On behalf of the City of Ozark, I wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday and a wonderful summer.

Record Turnout for Duck Race Festival

The Sertoma Duck Race Festival made a splash with record attendance at Finley River Park, bringing in more than 25,000 people over the 3-day festival for one of Ozark's favorite summer traditions.

For the first time, the festival featured carnival rides, adding another exciting attraction to the duck race, food vendors, live entertainment and community activities.

The addition helped make this year's event one of the biggest and most successful festivals to date, according to CCCC Sertoma Club.

Proceeds from the 2026 Sertoma Duck Race Festival will benefit Care to Learn Ozark, Children's Smile Center, Dogwood Ranch, Least of These, Santa's Toy Drive, the Ozark High School JROTC program and the Ozark Senior Center.

Thank you to the CCCC Sertoma Club, volunteers, sponsors and everyone who attended for making this year's festival such a tremendous success.

Together, you helped create unforgettable memories while supporting organizations that improve lives across our community.
