| Dear Resident,
As summer officially gets underway, there is a lot to celebrate in Ozark. June brings longer days, more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and exciting milestones that strengthen our community and quality of life.
Last month, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of the Chadwick Flyer Bridge, a project years in the making and one that represents much more than a bridge crossing Highway 65. This connection improves safety, expands recreational opportunities and links Ozark to a growing regional trail system. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the celebration and took part in that celebratory walk across the bridge. We’re excited to see families, walkers, cyclists and visitors enjoy this new community asset for years to come. |
We’re also excited to welcome the Ozark Farmers Market to its new home at Finley River Park. There’s something special about gathering along the river to support local farmers, makers and small businesses while enjoying one of Ozark’s most beautiful destinations. The market has become a favorite community tradition and its new location creates an even greater opportunity for residents and visitors to experience all our park has to offer. |
Thank you all for continuing to make Ozark such a special place to live, work and play. I look forward to seeing you around town this summer.
And congratulations again to the Class of 2026!
~Mayor Don Currence |

Ozark's Chadwick Flyer Bridge Wins Missouri Municipal League Innovation Award |
|
We’re excited to announce back-to-back wins for the City of Ozark in the Missouri Municipal League’s Innovation Awards! The Chadwick Flyer multi-modal bridge won in the Large City category (population 15,000 - 30,000).
This award made the May 14th ribbon cutting even more special! |
| The City of Ozark, in collaboration with several community partners, first began exploring the idea of a multi-use trail connecting Ozark and Springfield, Missouri, in 2016. After years of planning and coordination, construction on the Chadwick Flyer Trail officially began in 2020. The trail closely follows the historic route once traveled by the Chadwick Flyer in the late 1800s and early 1900s, preserving a meaningful piece of local heritage while creating new recreational opportunities. |

A Fresh Look. New Website Loading... |
|
An exciting update is coming to Ozark's digital front door this month. Keep an eye out for the city's new website design, featuring easier navigation, improved accessibility and quick access to the services and information you use most.
If you need help, look for Finley at the bottom right corner of the screen. Our river otter website guide is available 24/7! Finley scans the site in real time to quickly point you to the right information. And if he can’t find an answer, no worries, our team is notified, so we can improve the site or train Finley to better assist with future questions. |

Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) focuses on preventing crime through smart, thoughtful design of the places where people live, work, and gather. Rather than reacting after problems occur, CPTED looks at how layout, lighting, landscaping, and building design can influence behavior and reduce opportunities for crime.
The Ozark Police Department can provide a free CPTED Security Assessment for a home or business within the city limits of Ozark. The assessment will offer suggestions and recommendations to potentially deter crime. |

The Ozark trails are for everyone to enjoy, and we appreciate all users doing their part to keep them safe, welcoming, and accessible.
Recently, we’ve seen an increase in non-pedestrian traffic on the trails. As a reminder, City Ordinance No. 120.050 outlines what types of vehicles are permitted and helps ensure a positive experience for all visitors.
Electric bicycles (Classes 1, 2, and 3) and electric scooters are allowed on the trails, provided riders follow all state laws and local ordinances. While there is no set speed limit on our trails, riders must yield to pedestrians at all times and give an audible signal before passing. Please note that all e-bikes must be equipped with pedals.
For the safety of all trail users, golf carts, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), motorized bicycles, motorized play vehicles, and motor vehicles are not permitted on the trail system.
Thank you for helping us keep the Ozark trails safe and enjoyable for everyone. |
