Bonus Material Clueless, Carefree and Cared For — Holy Spirit Autopilot with David If we can't even define the problem, how can we define the means to solve the problem? If we can't even define the problem, we cannot find the means in our earthly egoic terms to solve those problems. In fact, we're going to have to become so clueless, that we don't know anything. That's really what salvation is. I do not know the thing I am, what I'm doing, where I'm going, or how look upon myself or the world. Why would you put your effort into trying to figure out and find problems and solutions in an imaginary world that has no existence. Wouldn't it be better to be a giver? Wouldn't it be more fun to just to be like God, to be a giver and to radiate that giving?  I always talk about being clueless, carefree and cared for.

What if every potential possibility could be seen and the mind could zoom in and select which scenario to play out? Chris Johnson has a psychic ability that allows him to do this and yet, without any real sense of purpose, his life is one of hiding and pretense. Through attraction and a guided relationship Chris opens up to seeing that through joining he can go beyond his fears and expand his perception and abilities. No matter how many ways we look at trying to change the future, we must find out that only a change of purpose is the answer. The whole world is hypothetical, and when this is seen there is surrender. The script is written, and there is no point in trying to figure it all out. Just rest and join with your brother to end the past. It is all forgiven, and at any point you can choose again for the plan of the Spirit.      Play Before Movie When you're thinking about the future and imagining possible outcomes, those are hypotheticals. To have hypotheticals, you have to have linear time and you have to have cause and effect apart as if there are these real scenarios that happened in the past and real possibilities that might happen in the future. It’s like a cobweb of lies that the ego has set up. A Course in Miracles teaches that cause and effect are together and not apart. It means that all of time is happening at the same time. Bonus Material Hypothetical Thinking is a Torture Device to Keep the Mind From the Present Moment "What if...?" Do you ever find yourself asking hypothetical questions? In this session, ACIM teacher David Hoffmeister reminds us there is no future or past. There is only now. Future and past only exist as concepts in the imagination. Hypothetical thinking is a torture device. Its main purpose is to keep the mind in the past or future. The whole journey to peace of Mind is to realize nothing could be different than how it is. All things work together for good. The script is written; therefore we can accept all things as they are. Once we do that, we are automatically connected with our inner guide.

A Great Hypothetical Example—In 2 Minutes (In the movie, Chris looks ahead to the future to see  what happens if he speaks to the FBI agent when she comes to his home to ask for his help. He leaves before she arrives, to avoid a meeting.) That was a good example of a hypothetical. There is a two minute window where he is saying “I want to see why she is here.” So, not only do we hear her play out all her thoughts, in the hypothetical two minutes, but we also get to hear him play out his thoughts. We hear his distrust of those people who tried to test him, help him. “Really, don’t mess with me. I’m already feeling strange with this psychic ability. I don’t feel loved, and I don’t want to have anything to do with your game, whatever it is. Even if, as you are saying, it is to save lives.” He is so burned out from feeling so poked and tested for so many years. Those were good examples of hypotheticals. We got to see the train hitting the car; a quick hypothetical. Then we got a little longer glimpse into hypotheticals with his window into the conversation with the FBI agent. We’ll come back to this point, because everything is hypotheticals. It’s just that the mind is convinced that certain things are actually happening. Then there are certain things that you can just think about, and call them what you will; fantasies or “it was just my imagination running away with me”. That would be, running away with my spirit. Or covering over my spirit with all this imagination. So basically, the mind is asleep and is believing in all these hypotheticals. It believes that what it sees around it is actually happening. The Holy Spirit had got to show the mind that it is all hypotheticals. MWGE Movie Review Excerpt What you most despise about yourself must come to the surface. The perfect mirror appears, and the opportunity for healing unconscious hurts is present, though not always recognized as such. Anger, frustration, and resentment can be traced to a deep seated lack of worth. This error of identity may include a false sense of superiority or pride that was built to overcompensate for, and offset, the believed lack of worth. When love beckons there is a deep call for healing, and every scrap of guilt is exposed. This release of guilt opens a call to join. Finally, with faith, the experience of joining breaks through in awareness and the happiness and love fill the mind and satisfy the deepest longing of the soul. The gratitude of healing flows without obstruction.      Play Before Movie This is an amazing movie of mirroring, of exposing what you need to have exposed. When a younger version of Russ shows up, all the things he hates about himself come to the surface. He discovers that feelings of lack, fear and unworthiness are churning around underneath his material success. As long as we cling to the mask then we don’t know the love that we are because we’re too busy holding onto the mask, propping it up, fixing it and trying to change it.      Play After Movie Russ invites his younger self to help him get in touch with repressed memories. In the end, he is going to look at the belief that he hurt his mother. The Course says that we’ll go forward in this process, even though it feels like we’re going backwards. Russ goes all the way back to the point in his life where believed that he killed his mother. And now he can choose again. "God's answer lies where the belief in sin must be, for only there can its effects be utterly undone and without cause." T-26.VII.5.      More Great Dropping the Mask Movies Emotions/Themes: Innocence, Addiction, Opening up to Love, Split Mind, No Private Thoughts, Forgiveness, Pride, No People Pleasing, Dropping the Mask, Letting Go of Control MWGE Excerpt: The self-concept is a lie. It is not who you are. You were never meant to play a role in this world. Fletcher is going through a major unwinding process. His self-concept has been built on playing roles, people-pleasing, and lying. His son Max makes a birthday wish, after which Fletcher finds that he actually cannot tell a lie. For Fletcher it is a torturous experience as he believes that his private thoughts, little white lies, and half-truths keep him safe, loved, and employed. Emotions/Themes: Dropping the Mask, Heal Past Associations, Anger, Dare to Take Step, Guidance, Fear of Commitment, Teacher/Student, Willingness, Unworthiness MWGE Excerpt: By opening the heart and learning to trust, we learn to let go of the past and thus release all hurt, anger, and blame. We finally open to hear the gentle voice of love reminding us over and over, “It’s not your fault.” It is merely our unconscious belief, the ego, that seeks to place a limit on the beautiful, magnificent inner being that yearns to shine and shine. We see the inner beauty when we are ready. Emotions/Themes: Unworthiness, Compromise, People Pleasing, Opening up to Love, Perfectionism, Unworthiness, Workaholism, Letting Go of Control, Dropping the Mask MWGE Excerpt: When you want something from the world, the world wants something from you, because it can only reflect what is valued. When there is a crack of an opening in the mind to remember the love that has been buried away, the light will come through, and will eventually soften even the hardest heart. Expectations and compromise block the ability to communicate and join. Both must be laid aside in order to experience present joining.

Bonus Material The Ego is Not Happy With This Process of Letting Go & Awakening The personal construct is a mask that needs to be left behind. The ego hears this and says, "Uh oh, that's not good." Forgiveness leads to the remembrance of abstraction. It takes trust to let go of personal pursuits and the things that you think sustain you. You are sustained by the love of God. Then you sail along in the happy dream.

50 Years of Pretense or One Holy Instant - You Choose I've always said I would rather have one instant of deep communion than fifty years of living with someone under the same roof and trying to carry on with masks. One instant of dropping the mask in a full way—what the Course would call a holy instant—is more valuable than fifty years of pretense. And you see how opposite that is to the world. The world would say, "Well fifty years has to count for something. We stuck it out for fifty years." You don't hear yourself in rapture saying, "Oh, I stuck it out," it's more like, "Take me up, beam me up, take me in the rapture." When you're sticking something out there's a sense of compromise underneath. There's a sense of, I would say, sacrifice. MWGE Movie Review Excerpt The sole purpose of this virtual world is to rediscover our true connection with God and to realize that we are really one Self. Any other purpose will only bind us to this world and delay our awareness of Heaven. The main character Ren must collaborate with mighty companions in order to expose any private thoughts and clearly look at the purpose of what her virtual reality program, OtherLife, is being used for. By undergoing solitary confinement through scripted virtual memories, Ren is given an opportunity to question beliefs in the mind and to reach the state where she sees that she's the dreamer of the dream. Discernment is needed on the path of awakening. The difference between the Holy Spirit and ego motives can be discerned through the application of the right use of judgment, which is how one feels. By using the power of the mind, Ren sees the unreality of what she is experiencing and collapses time to awaken from the dream.       Play Before Movie The first step in awakening is knowing you made the world up. That knowing takes the mind out of a sense of victimization, of being mistreated by something outside of itself, which is the whole ego trick. When the mind falls asleep and projects an external world, then it is bent on finding personal freedom. But we have to come to realize that, as Morpheus told Neo in The Matrix, the matrix is a prison for your mind. It’s the mind that’s in slavery. The mind is extremely powerful, and yet when it’s given over to this crazy, mad idea of an external world, then there's this virtual reality experience that seems to be perceptual rather than abstract love and light.       Play After Movie Ren felt hurt about her brother being in a coma. If you go deeper with that feeling, it's a fear of loss. The mind that falls asleep and dreams of a separate world has a very deep hurt in the mind. This belief in loss often shows up as a relationship that seems to end. Sadness is always based on a deeper belief that you can lose your connection with God. The thought of losing the connection with God was so painful that it was pushed way out of awareness into the subconscious. Jesus tells us in the Course that it's not really true that we have separated from Source. Coming back to this remembrance is what the spiritual journey is all about.      More Great Virtual Reality Movies Emotions/Themes: Forgiveness, False Perception, Deception, Denial, Intellectualization, Projection, Wake-Up Call, Face of Innocence MWGE Excerpt: This film provides another great opportunity to see beyond the virtual reality made up by the ego. In seeming realm after realm, the images and characters seem to be very real, yet they but represent the inventions, wishes, and desires of the ego acted out in form. As it dawns in awareness that none of the scenarios are real, this realization beckons the question: Then what is the point? Forgiveness of illusions is the point!  Emotions/Themes: Pain and Pleasure, Sex, Deception, Transcending Roles, Anger, Addiction, Temptation, Discover True Identity, Split Mind MWGE Excerpt: The game of the ego is to make us think we need something from the outside to fulfill us. In this movie, there are two games to play: one is the society game and one is the war game. The society game uses sex, fun and physical appearance for pleasure and the war game uses killing for pleasure. In both games, the bodies are on the strings of the ego. The bodies are hooked up to the ego and it is telling them what to do and what to say. The ego will tell you that there is a prize at the end of the game, but there never is. It is just a loop. You cannot win. Emotions/Themes: Jealousy, Abandonment, Present Moment, Innocence, Dare to Take Step, Family, Dropping the Mask, Prayer, Power of Thought MWGE Excerpt: This is a futuristic story of love that extends beyond biology, machines and technology. It illustrates a search for the real love that is in everyone’s heart. In form, many issues arise that seem to obscure Eternal Love; abandonment and rejection are common feelings that block the Light. Yet Love prevails, and the witnesses to Love are beheld with the heart open and ready to receive.

Bonus Material The Whole Cosmos is Virtual Reality, Where Thoughts Appear as Images In this audio, David explores the topic of virtual reality as it relates to experiencing the world. If this world is a simulation, a world generated by subconscious beliefs and thoughts, what is the escape to reality? David explains that guidance or intuition is the key to the steps to awakening from the simulation called the time-space cosmos. Using references to modern-day awakening movies, the context is given for receiving the necessary instructions to escape the matrix. Because until the mind has a clue that it is dreaming a world of unreality, it will not have a reason to search the mind to find the escape.

Virtual Reality Movies Mirror Themes on Spiritual Journey In the movie Gamer, the main character is in this violent video game. He has a faint memory of love that keeps him going because it is very difficult for him in this game. It is a parallel to this world where when you forget it is a game, it gets exhausting, repetitive, and heavy. You know that it is not reality, but there is no direct contact with reality so the frustration is there, the guilt. There is a tension with forgetting it is a game, and then you try to play out the game, to play a perfect game, or to be a good game player. The game seems to start because there is an attempt to escape from fear. Underneath that escape from fear is a huge fear of love, divine love, which is pushed way out of awareness. So the main character in Gamer is going to need a lot of determination, collaboration and mighty companions to get out of the game. And in this way, his journey is spiritual in the sense that he is seeking the love under all the darkness.
